Our Job is in the Microcosmos
We aim to dissolve the distinction between art and science with the Microcosmos: a visually stunning app that tells fascinating stories about how 4 letters form the building blocks of all life - from an elephant to an onion and everything in between. While the world of genomics can certainly be thrilling for those on the front lines, the information produced by this complex field can be dense and inaccessible to anyone lacking the professional experience or the time to do some serious “digging”.
Through the Microcosmos, you’ll delve into genomic stories that bring science to life, organized into constellations for you to explore; meet members of the tree of life and explore their genomes through colourful, interactive visuals; and use our genomics portal as a jumping point to other topics in this domain of nooks, crannies and unexpected connections. There’s no end to the stories we could tell - expect an expanded experience with themes like Ancient DNA, Psychoactive Compounds, and The History of Genetics added in the future.
